The Senior Access Service Specialist is responsible for 'on the floor' oversight of patient throughput and has the skill set encompassing multiple facets of Patient Access. The Senior Access Service Specialist has been cross trained in all locations of Access and is flexible to be assigned in any trained unit for the day and time needed for the operational needs. In addition, the Senior Specialist may also have oversight of daily workflow assignments and assessing vulnerability of work unable to be completed, escalating to supervisor as identified. Knowledge encompasses the Access Service Representative I/II and Access Specialist. The Senior Access Service Specialist position is responsible for understanding billing process and the impact Access has on clean claim submission. Responsibility for Epic Access Pre- and Post- Work queues to ensure timely resolution of encounters so as not to delay billing.
