Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever. The Semiconductor Process Technician supports manufacturing operations by completing process activities, monitoring product flow, and maintaining process stability within an assigned semiconductor fabrication area. This role works closely with Process Engineers, Equipment Technicians, and Production teams to ensure safe, high‑quality, and efficient manufacturing. The Process Technician performs inspections, monitors SPC charts and process alarms, delivers qualifications, and provides critical support for process control, yield improvement, and operational throughput.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with semiconductor (or similar) manufacturing processes, automated tools, and SPC concepts.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel/Word and ability to follow standardized procedures and document work accurately.
  • Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (3/4 schedule), stand for extended periods, and lift up to 20 lbs; strong communication and teamwork.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in a technical or STEM‑related field, or equivalent military/industry training.
  • Experience working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using Linux systems or advanced data‑analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor process conditions, SPC charts, alarms, and parametric indicators; respond to out‑of‑control or out‑of‑spec conditions and raise to engineering as needed.
  • Perform process‑related tasks including Clean & Inspect (C&I), tool checks, qualification restarts, param card changes, and functional checks per area procedures.
  • Complete SWR instructions, process holds and releases, and follow documented workflows for handling non-standard lots or deviations.
  • Investigate quality deviations, document findings, and support root-cause analysis according to established procedures.
  • Track area throughput, tool constraints, misprobe trends, and process‑related inefficiencies; communicate issues promptly to engineering and shift leadership.
  • Use manufacturing systems (MTSPC, SPACE, fab applications) to track tool health, monitor process metrics, and support efficiency improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records, charts, and data summaries used for engineering reviews, experiments, and process development work.
  • Perform basic PM and recovery activities (e.g., Coinstacker PM, wafer/robot recovery) to support area tool functionality and maintain quality.
