About The Position

Lockheed Martin's Santa Barbara Focalplane Infrared Sensors Business is seeking an experienced Semiconductor Process Engineer to support and sustain semiconductor wafer and packaging processes. This role involves working with various semiconductor processing techniques and collaborating with development and process integration engineers to implement new processes into the manufacturing line. The engineer will also lead projects related to the fabrication and evaluation of semiconductor devices, utilizing data-driven analysis for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor wafer processing areas such as photolithography, metrology, thin film deposition, wet/dry etching, substrate thinning, or dicing.
  • 5+ years of industry experience or a Master's degree with 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience with automated semiconductor processing equipment for various processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Excellent engineering documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively from technician level to senior management.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize assignments independently.
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and data analysis software such as MATLAB or JMP.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automated optical inspection and metrology.
  • Experience with flip-chip bonding.
  • Advanced degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.

Responsibilities

  • Sustain and support III-V and Si semiconductor wafer and packaging process areas.
  • Define processing and handling equipment requirements and specifications.
  • Review processing techniques and methods for semiconductor device fabrication.
  • Collaborate with development and process integration engineers to adapt new processes into manufacturing.
  • Lead semiconductor processing equipment capital procurement projects.
  • Manage projects related to process definition, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of semiconductor devices.
  • Conduct data-driven analysis to assess continuous improvement activities.
