Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) within Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented, motivated, and creative Semiconductor Process Applications Engineer for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman's ATL semiconductor foundry provides unique capabilities supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable multiple generations of Northrop Grumman's ground-based radars, avionic radars, and space systems. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related STEM degree with 2 years of relevant experience, 0 years with a Master's degree
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience with the software systems engineering life cycle
  • Experience with semiconductor fabrication
  • US Citizenship required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a compound and Si semiconductor fab as a digital applications engineer or process engineer
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor technology and software systems architecture
  • Experience with requirements definition and drafting of specifications documents
  • Experience with design of hardware-software interface models
  • Experience with machine learning and equipment automation
  • Data analysis and visualization (JMP and/or MiniTab)
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) methodologies
  • Experience maintaining/sustaining software applications
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to identify manufacturing improvements, manage change, and implement solutions
  • Ability and desire to assume a technical leadership role within the organization
