The Semiconductor HP Orbital Welder/Fitter plays an essential hands-on role within CAM Industrial Solutions’ semiconductor operations, specializing in the fabrication and assembly of high-purity stainless steel gas lines and components. Reporting to the Project or Cleanroom Supervisor, this role is responsible for executing precision orbital welds in cleanroom environments to support the manufacturing of critical systems such as gas cabinets, valve manifold boxes (VMBs), and process panels. This position is vital to maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and safety, while ensuring alignment with CAM Industrial Solutions’ procedures, technical specifications, and customer expectations. The Semiconductor HP Orbital Welder / Fitter will contribute directly to the successful delivery of high-tech projects through skilled craftsmanship, attention to detail, and adherence to cleanroom protocols.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with orbital welding in cleanroom or high-purity environments (semiconductor, pharma, or biotech preferred).
  • Proficiency using orbital weld systems (e.g., AMI, Swagelok, or equivalent).
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Working knowledge of cleanroom operations and contamination control best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards of workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards as applicable; OSHA 10 certification required.
  • High school diploma or GED required; welding or technical certification preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Leak testing experience (e.g., helium leak detection) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-purity orbital welding of stainless-steel tubing and components in a cleanroom setting.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain orbital welding equipment, including power supplies and weld heads.
  • Prepare tubing and fittings by cutting, facing, deburring, and cleaning to meet specifications.
  • Interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and schematics to accurately execute work.
  • Complete and maintain weld coupon documentation and quality records.
  • Inspect welds for appearance, structural integrity, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and team collaboration.
  • Support leak testing and troubleshooting activities when needed.
  • Adhere to cleanroom protocols and contamination prevention procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required to meet project timelines and client needs.
