About The Position

The Semiconductor Foundry Work Center Lead at Raytheon is responsible for overseeing the III-V process development engineering team within the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Department. This role involves leading a team in the production of semiconductor materials and devices, managing research and development priorities, and serving as the main interface between the development fab and various technical leads and project managers. The position requires a strong understanding of microelectronics wafer fabrication and processing techniques, along with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years' of prior work experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 5 years' of prior work experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor processing techniques including lithography, dry etching, wet chemistry, metals evaporation, sputtering and backside processing.
  • Experience demonstrating skills including team leadership, communication and project management.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance post-start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of development engineers by providing leadership and technical guidance in the production of novel semiconductor materials and devices.
  • Support the research and development efforts of the department by managing priorities and wafer movement through the Development Fab.
  • Coordinate with and report to technical leads and project managers on the status of experiments within the Development Fab.
  • Propose and manage overhead projects for the growth and sustainment of the Development Fab.
  • Interface with the operations management to advocate and coordinate the Development Fab access on production wafer fabrication toolsets.
  • Manage the budget and scheduling of the equipment maintenance and repair of the Development Fab toolset while developing the road map for the future capital equipment.
  • Oversee and lead continuous improvement efforts for the Development Fab including the audit readiness, safety, chemical inventory and other facilities infrastructure.
  • Frequently work on the foundry floor and interact with various process engineering, equipment engineering, digital technologies, quality, facilities, and operation teams.
