Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Semiconductor Equipment Engineer Level 3 / 4 for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland – where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman’s ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable a number of Northrop Grumman’s ground-based radars, avionic radars, and space systems. Our multidisciplinary foundry team enables activities from development to sustainment process engineering. ATL is responsible for all aspects of semiconductor technology including design, mask making, wafer fabrication, test, and assembly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or any related STEM degree and 5 years of relevant experience or Master's degree and 3 years relevant experience.
• Experience working with semiconductor fabrication equipment.
• Experience with fab facility infrastructure, and maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross organizational teams such as engineering, line maintenance and building maintenance.
• Experience with Wet Clean/Wet Etch Semiconductor Production Equipment.
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis/Structured Problem Solving.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with equipment installation and tool startup.
• Proven track record managing strategic projects from inception through completion; including financial, risk and schedule management.
• Experience interfacing with vendors for equipment repairs, service contracts, and purchase.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering projects such as continuous improvement with an emphasis on tool uptime and availability.
• Vendor management, equipment layout, cleanroom construction and installation of semiconductor equipment.
• Utilize RCCA techniques to systematically investigate equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Apply reliability engineering principles to enhance equipment dependability and performance.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules, optimize processes, and manage spare parts inventory.
• Implement lean and Six Sigma methodologies for continuous improvement.
• Maintain tool documentation repositories for easy access to manuals and troubleshooting guides.
• Offer training and support to operators, ensuring optimal equipment performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders for seamless integration and communicate effectively for efficient maintenance and improvement processes.
