We are seeking a qualified and experienced Truck Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safety transporting raw materials, components and finished goods between various local sites to support Perrigo operations utilizing Perrigo's internal fleet of tractors and trailers. This is a 2nd shift position working 5pm-1am or 4pm-12am.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class A license.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and random substance abuse screening.
  • Violation-free MVR and FMCSA Clearinghouse query.

Responsibilities

  • Operating company equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policy, applicable traffic laws and DOT regulations.
  • Transporting raw materials, components and finished goods between different Perrigo campuses within the Allegan, Holland and Grand Rapids area.
  • Promptly responding to requests for trailer moves while maintaining the prescribed number of empty trailers at each location.
  • Interacting with other Perrigo employees, service providers and members of the public with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Fulfilling all job responsibilities in a self-directed manner with minimal supervisory oversight.
  • Participate in DOT random Alcohol and Drug screening program as required to maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure they are in good working condition, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as checking oil levels, antifreeze, changing hoses, Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), fuses, and executing minor repairs when necessary.
  • Liaison with trucking contract companies for repairs, tire replacements, preventive maintenance, and other related matters.
  • RODS logging is not required in this role, however compliance with other Hours of Service regulations is mandatory.
