SEMCO Energy has an immediate opening for an Engineering Analyst to support the Integrity and GIS programs. The role involves utilizing Microsoft Suite programs to develop and maintain complex databases and spreadsheets, ensuring compliance-related activities are tracked and documented, managing the development and implementation of corrective actions, and supporting GIS with data collection. The analyst will compile data for annual reports, administer company databases, lead analytical support for integrity programs, and participate in departmental planning and reporting processes.

  • Utilization of Microsoft Suite programs in developing and maintaining complex databases and spreadsheets.
  • Ensure all compliance related activities are tracked, measured, documented and aligned in accordance with Integrity plan(s).
  • Manage the development and implementation of correction actions and mitigation strategies utilizing root cause analysis and company data model(s).
  • Support GIS with data collection and integration of data with gas asset information.
  • Compile data and complete company-required annual reports; including DOT, Main Replacement Report, etc.
  • Administer/create company databases and provide quality control and support to all end users.
  • Lead and/or provide analytical support of data related to company integrity programs; including TIMP, DIMP, and SIMP.
  • Participate in departmental planning and the monthly reporting process by collecting and monitoring actual performance data against prepared forecasts.
  • Participate in the preparation of external reports submitted to the MPSC as well as other governmental agencies.
  • Perform data analysis to support company objectives and resource optimization.
  • Lead small engineering or integrity projects or support large capital or O&M projects or programs.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT, Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics or other closely related field.
  • Four to seven years of analytical experience or an equivalent combination of education and qualifying experience.
  • Ability to research problems independently and propose business solutions.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving methods and identify corrective actions to improve company processes.
  • Proven organizational and analytical skills to analyze processes, make recommendations, monitor effectiveness and provide future direction and guidance.
  • Required to have advanced skills in Microsoft Suite programs (or equivalent use of other software to document processes).
  • Competitive salary range of $82,000 to $118,750 per year.
