About The Position

The Self-Sufficiency Initiatives Manager at the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority (AMHA) is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and operation of self-sufficiency initiatives and programming. This role supports the Resident Services Director and Senior Manager by managing grants, coordinating community partnerships, and ensuring the delivery of services that enhance the stability and self-sufficiency of residents. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to effectively manage programs and staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in social services or related field.
• 3-5 years' experience in social service program management and grant-funded programs.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and strong computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree or LSW preferred.
• Familiarity with Tenmast software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, implementation, and operation of self-sufficiency initiatives and programming.
• Prepare and submit grant applications and proposals, coordinating with community partners and funders.
• Maintain program policy information and communicate changes to staff.
• Identify resident needs and coordinate services and events with Service Coordinators.
• Serve as a liaison for HUD representatives regarding resident services programming and grant activities.
• Develop and enrich community partnerships to enhance services for AMHA clients.
• Prepare correspondence, technical and status reports to keep management informed of program progress.
• Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage grant budgets.
