About The Position

Direct Support Professional (DSP) needed to work with an active man in his early 20s in Liverpool that uses his communication device to communicate. He loves going to the Baldwinsville YMCA for swimming. He enjoys going for walks outside, listening to music, and taking horseback riding lessons. He enjoys engaging with music and light up toys, but also loves visiting quiet places where he can relax. He is looking for dedicated staff to assist him with working on his habilitative goals in community settings. Hours and days of work: Monday through Friday 9am-3pm

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work independently in the person's home and/or community.
• Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
• New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
• All new hires must complete five-hour initial training; the pay rate for the initial training is $16.50/hour.
• Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.

• Experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
