About The Position

As a Self-Checkout Host at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will be the face of the company, providing exceptional customer service while assisting customers with their self-checkout experience. This role involves overseeing self-checkout units, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a clean and orderly checkout area. You will assist customers with scanning, weighing, and bagging their items, while also addressing any issues that may arise during the checkout process.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1-2 years of cashier experience preferred in a retail, customer service, or sales environment.
• Positive attitude and ability to interact positively with customers.
• Ability to operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners.
• Dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to lift/carry products weighing up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring a force up to 35 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers, including cash handling and mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service at self-checkout units.
• Assist customers with scanning, weighing, bagging, and paying for their items.
• Monitor scanning activity to ensure accuracy and assist with any issues that arise.
• Invite customers to use self-checkout lanes, especially during busy times.
• Maintain knowledge of weekly ad items, promotions, and product locations.
• Ensure self-checkout areas are clean and orderly.
• Thank customers as they leave the self-checkout area.
