POSITION SUMMARY: The Self-Checkout Coordinator delivers quality customer service while maintaining the area in a clean and safe condition, as well as stocked with the products customers need. One of the last interactions our customers have before leaving the store is with the Self-Checkout Coordinator; therefore, delivering excellent customer service while maintaining company core values is expected. The individual will ensure the customer is satisfied and encouraged to come back to Cardenas Markets.
Requirements
- Customer Service and retail experience desirable;
- Bilingual: Spanish and English preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate front end equipment; register, calculator, scanner;
- Oversee self-checkout units; demonstrates personal Customer Service excellence. Engage with customers always;
- Serve multiple customers at once and anticipate issues before they occur;
- Monitor scanning activity to ensure scanning accuracy;
- Invite customers to use self-checkout lanes, especially if lines are forming in other lanes;
- Dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers. Demonstrate care and compassion for people; show empathy and concern. Able to build and maintain positive team relationships, relate well to diverse people; is approachable;
- Clearly communicate and enforce standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, store conditions and food safety; Engage in safe work practices and encouraging others to do the same;
- Responsible for presentation of work area, cleaning & organization -- uniform & personal appearance of self;
- All other duties as assigned.
