About The Position

The position involves processing orders for material or merchandise received through various channels such as mail, telephone, or in-person from customers or company employees. The role requires the operation of RF scanners to track product movement and the use of equipment like pallet jacks, forklifts, and cherry pickers to handle products safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include selecting the correct products, assembling orders on pallets for transportation, and ensuring minimal damage during handling. The individual will also be responsible for inventory management, including checking for products in transit, sorting materials, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Process orders for material or merchandise received by mail, telephone, or in-person.
  • Operate RF scanners to track product movement.
  • Use pallet jacks, forklifts, and cherry pickers safely and efficiently.
  • Identify and select the correct product and quantity.
  • Determine partial case items when necessary.
  • Assemble products on pallets for transportation while minimizing damage.
  • Contact Forklift Operators to replenish empty pick bins.
  • Locate supervisors for product substitutes when items are out of stock.
  • Check for products in transit at the end of each night.
  • Open and close boxes, bales, and other containers.
  • Pick and assemble orders from stock, verifying information and quantities.
  • Sort and place materials on racks or shelves according to predetermined slot assignments.
  • Rotate products to ensure 'First In-First Out'.
  • Load and stack products on trucks securely to prevent damage.
  • Assist in warehouse maintenance and cleaning.
  • Perform various inventory-related functions as necessary.
  • Receive trucks as needed and inspect received products for quality and expiration dates.
