The position involves inspecting and packing glass containers on production lines. The employee will receive assignments from the Supervisor and special instructions from the Auditor. Responsibilities include visually inspecting glass containers for defects and ensuring conformance to specifications, inspecting cartons and interiors for damage, and packing acceptable ware into specified shipping containers. The employee will also discard defective ware into the cullet conveyor or proper receptacle for removal, unjam carton and ware conveyor systems, and report defects and machine malfunctions to Auditors and Supervisors. Additionally, the employee will reselect and/or repack ware in cartons, discard defective ware, and place cartons on pallets following a predetermined pattern. The employee is expected to remain at their work station at all times except when on authorized relief and perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor. Maintaining safety through good housekeeping and work methods is also a key responsibility.

  • Visually inspects glass containers for defects and conformance to specifications.

  • High School Diploma.
  • Strong stable work history with no gaps in employment history.
  • Some specialized knowledge of inspection methods.
  • Knowledge of usage of gauging and testing equipment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to independently maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Knowledge of basic safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow and retain directions as well as manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to reach a common goal.
