About The Position

The overall goal for this work is to build our capacity to provide high-quality support services for all students, while building our students' engagement in SEL skill-building activities.

Requirements

  • Regular and/or special education Massachusetts certified teacher, school adjustment counselor, school psychologists, or equivalent professional staff.
  • Ability to attend SEL meetings outside of the school day/work with the leadership team.
  • Skilled in collection and use of data for problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Knowledge and fluency with evidence-based SEL Practices (features, practices, and systems across tiers).
  • Understands basic behavioral principles.
  • Familiar with components and operations of a proactive school-wide behavior discipline system.
  • Ability to engage and facilitate in the data inquiry cycle and use available data sources to inform practice and recommend adjustments to practice.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the members of the school-based SEL Team on the following:
  • In collaboration with the SEL Coach and building administration, support colleagues in implementing the social-emotional learning (SEL) Curriculum.
  • Attend and actively participate in building-based SEL meetings, which may occur up to 10 hours outside of the school day, and district-provided SEL professional development sessions.
  • Identify and promote professional development (PD) opportunities featuring social-emotional learning (SEL) content throughout the school.
  • In collaboration with the SEL Coach and building administration, assist with school training implementation efforts.
  • Support the implementation of school-wide assessments, including assisting with scoring and analyzing data.
  • Use the data inquiry cycle to identify strengths of current programming and opportunities for continuous growth.
  • Assist in the development of consistent and coherent Multi-Tiered Systems of Support to promote a consistent district-wide definition of social emotional learning (SEL) and assist with the development of the Tier 1 SEL Curriculum.
  • Actively and iteratively deliver SEL practices aligned with the CASEL competencies.

Benefits

  • DiPietro and Stall Brook $800 Stipend (payable 40% in November and 60% in May/June).
  • Memorial: $500 Stipend (payable 40% in November and 60% in May/June).
