About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a dedicated individual for a full-time position in the Labor & Delivery-Nursing department. This role involves performing general housekeeping duties, food service, and patient transport as directed by nursing staff. The position is located at 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, New York, and operates on a rotating shift schedule. The compensation range for this position is $18.75 - $25.44, as per the collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, write, and understand oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Successful completion of a 6-week orientation/training program.

Responsibilities

• Cleans patient rooms daily and empties trash and linen hampers.
• Cleans nursing station halls, medication rooms, breakroom, and utility rooms daily.
• Communicates with the Housekeeping department regarding patient rooms requiring cleaning.
• Attends to accidental spillage on patient unit floors in a timely manner.
• Arranges for repair of broken equipment identified during cleaning duties.
• Serves patient meals and assists patients as needed.
• Provides for the safety of patients through communication with Nursing Staff.
• Distributes and collects patient menus and assists with dietary selections.
• Stocks unit supplies according to established par levels.
• Obtains and sets up equipment as needed and transports patients as required.
