About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a part-time worker for the Food & Nutrition Services department. This position involves assembling, serving, and collecting patient meals, as well as maintaining sanitation in work areas. The role requires effective communication with patients and families, ensuring their dietary needs are met while representing the hospital positively. Requirements

• High School diploma.
• Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English.
• Experience in a service environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and deliver patient trays for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner meals in a timely manner.
• Pass all nourishments and fill water pitchers.
• Pass all patient specific menus and assist with patient menu selection.
• Collect and submit all completed patient menu selections.
• Collect all soiled meal trays and move soiled carts to elevator area.
• Record all patients in's and out's, including food and liquid consumption.
• Maintain appropriate levels of floor stock by completing daily inventory.
• Supply all necessary late trays and substitute selections for patients.
• Perform assigned cleaning duties such as unit microwave, freezer, and galley work surfaces.
• Check food temperature when microwaving trays.
• Assemble trays on the trayline for meal service and assist with limited food preparation.
