About The Position

Iteris is seeking a Segment Development Director - Transportation Data & Analytics. The Director-level industry expert will be responsible for leading market strategy, driving industry engagement, and developing a strong opportunity pipeline for Iteris’ traffic analytics and visualization platform. This senior, high-visibility role serves as a trusted advisor to consulting firms and transportation agencies, guiding how advanced analytics, data visualization, and decision-support tools are used to deliver greater efficiency, better outcomes, and higher-value services for consultants and their customers. The role blends deep ITS domain expertise with consultative selling, thought leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to influence procurement, shape market strategy, and drive sustainable enterprise pipeline growth across priority segments—positioning Iteris’ platform as a core tool within consultants’ workflows and project delivery models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Transportation, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Over seven to ten (7–10) years of experience in the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) industry
  • Demonstrated experience working with traffic analytics, data platforms, or visualization tools in a consulting or agency environment
  • Proven background in enterprise or consultative sales, business development, or technical consulting
  • Strong understanding of public-sector procurement processes, including RFPs and consultant-led engagements
  • Established credibility with transportation agencies, DOTs, transit authorities, and consulting firms
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and executive-level engagement skills
  • Ability to bridge technical depth with commercial strategy and market-facing leadership

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a visible industry leader and trusted advisor through conference participation, public speaking, customer workshops, and industry forums
  • Lead market-facing strategy for traffic analytics and visualization solutions across consulting firms and public-sector transportation agencies
  • Build and influence top-of-funnel pipeline with mid-size consulting firms and enterprise agencies by aligning platform capabilities to customer outcomes and consultant workflows
  • Support complex, consultant-led sales cycles from early strategy discussions through formal RFPs, RFQs, and tender processes
  • Partner with sales teams to shape account strategies, competitive positioning, and win strategies for enterprise pursuits
  • Provide RFP and tender support, including solution framing, technical narratives, value justification, and participation in proposal reviews and customer presentations
  • Collaborate with Solutions Engineering to deliver high-impact demonstrations, technical workshops, and executive briefings tailored to agency and consultant use cases
  • Advise consultants on how analytics and visualization tools improve project efficiency, repeatability, and customer outcomes across planning, operations, and safety programs
  • Translate market, customer, and partner feedback into go-to-market, product, and solution strategy insights
  • Represent Iteris as a thought leader in data-driven transportation decision-making and intelligent transportation systems
  • Travel up to 30–40%, as required
