The position is for a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the Respiratory Care Department, with work locations including Texas Health Dallas, Texas Health Allen, Texas Health Plano, and Texas Health Frisco. The role offers several shifts including full-time, part-time, and PRN. Requirements

  • Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required.
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.
  • 1 Year Med/Surg or critical care experience preferred.
  • RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner upon hire required.
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire required.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support ICU and Emergency Department only 90 Days required.
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program required if working in the NICU 90 Days required.
  • Good verbal communications, good interpersonal skills, and computer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from the patient or family.
  • Evaluate each patient using age and diagnosis-appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
  • Apply appropriate patient care interventions according to protocol guidelines and priority of care.
  • Demonstrate competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient assessment and individualize care based on age-specific needs.
  • Use therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient's age and desire for treatment.
  • Perform treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.
