About The Position

As a Certified Home Health Aide (HHA), you will provide one-to-one patient care in Washington D.C. This role emphasizes a whole-person focus, ensuring that care goes beyond just physical health to include mental and emotional well-being. Requirements

  • Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide program (HHA certificate).
  • Minimum 1 year of paid home-health or hospice experience.
  • Reliable transportation to reach clients’ homes.
  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
  • Clear, confident communication and a passion for relationship-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Safely assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including transfers, bathing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free home environment, including changing linens and doing light laundry.
  • Monitor medication and symptoms by providing reminders, observing for changes, and documenting vitals or red-flag signs for the supervising nurse.
  • Engage therapeutically with clients through activities such as reading aloud, reminiscing, guiding range-of-motion exercises, or accompanying them on short walks.
  • Accurately document care notes, progress, and concerns in the digital charting system before the end of each shift.
