Responsibilities

Patrols facilities and premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensures security of doors.
Controls access of all visitors, vendors, contractors and employees; monitors intrusion detection and CCTV systems.
Answers alarms and investigate disturbances.
Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
Conducts extensive security tours of the facility and grounds; reports all potential safety, security, and equipment problems to appropriate departments.
Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
Calls police or fire departments in cases of emergency.
Operates detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
Inspects and adjust security systems equipment, to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.
Escorts cleared and uncleared personnel.
May work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays to provide 24-hour security coverage at multiple facilities.
The employee may frequently be required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
The employee is required to reach with hands and arms.
The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
