About The Position

The Security and Transportation Officer ensures the safety and well-being of St. Joseph of the Pines’ residents, visitors, staff, and facilities. In this role, you will uphold the organization’s Pillars of Values: People, Growth, Quality, Service, and Financial stewardship. As a trusted team member, you’ll deliver excellent service while providing secure transportation to appointments, shopping, and community activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid license required and must have a safe driving record.
  • Medical First Responder Class or CENA license preferred.
  • Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred.
  • Must possess superior customer service skills and professionalism.
  • Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to ongoing change and work in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
  • Possesses interpersonal and relationship building skills to work in a cross-functional team as well as the ability to work with residents based on their cognitive ability.
  • Possesses a high degree of personal accountability, responsibility, and strong decision-making abilities.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the organization.
  • Able to transfer residents on and off bus and into appointments or other destinations as required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment on campus.
  • Transport residents in a company vehicle to scheduled appointments and activities.
  • Assist residents with mobility challenges, ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation.
  • Maintain the vehicle by performing routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, and refueling.
  • Collaborate with staff and residents to coordinate transportation schedules.
  • Respond to safety concerns promptly and professionally, fostering a calm and welcoming environment.
