About The Position

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations, Atlantic Fields Club set in Hobe Sound, Florida. Atlantic Fields is seeking a Security Training Manager to join the Safety & Security Department. The Security Training Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing security training programs within the organization. This role involves assessing training needs, designing, and delivering training modules, and ensuring that security personnel are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively carry out their duties. The Security Training Manager will also be responsible for evaluating training effectiveness, maintaining training records, and staying updated on industry best practices and regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in security training or a similar role, with a strong understanding of security principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver effective training programs, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and technologies.
  • Excellent knowledge of security policies, procedures, and best practices, including physical security, access control, and emergency response protocols.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Proficient in using training software, learning management systems, and multimedia tools to develop and deliver training materials.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies, with the ability to tailor training content to different learner groups.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple training projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to evaluate training effectiveness, analyze data, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to security training and professional development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Availability to travel occasionally for training purposes.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Firearms Instruction Certified (i.e. NRA Certified / Range Master)
  • Florida DACS D/G/K license required
  • Defensive Tactics Instruction Certified.
  • Use of Force Instruction Certified.
  • First Aid/CPR Instruction Certified.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in security management, criminal justice, education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent experience or certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all members of the Community Safety and Security team (CSST) are trained to provide world class service to all members, guests and employees.
  • Ensure team members have a thorough knowledge of all club amenities and services to assist members and support club operations.
  • Assess training needs and develop a comprehensive security training program that aligns with organizational goals, security protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Design and deliver training modules, workshops, and presentations to security personnel, covering topics such as access control, emergency response, surveillance techniques, and incident management.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to develop training materials, including manuals, handbooks, videos, and online resources.
  • Ensure that training programs incorporate relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and that security personnel are aware of their legal and ethical responsibilities.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops, both in-person and remotely, ensuring that content is engaging, interactive, and tailored to the needs of different learner groups.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback mechanisms, and make necessary adjustments to improve training outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records, including attendance, completion, and performance data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on emerging security threats, technologies, and industry trends, incorporating relevant knowledge into training programs and materials.
  • Collaborate with security leadership to identify training gaps, develop strategies for continuous improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and progress of security personnel, providing coaching, mentoring, and additional support as required.
  • Liaise with external training providers, industry associations, and regulatory bodies to stay informed about new training opportunities and certifications.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring that they are effectively communicated and understood by all personnel.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of security training plans, security standard operation policy / procedure manuals, and security crisis / emergency response procedures.
  • Able and willing to execute at the highest levels, all job functions of line-level positions within the department.
