About The Position

The Security Technology & Protections Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and compliance oversight of physical security systems and protections across company facilities. This role ensures that electric boats, security systems and protective measures meet regulatory, contractual, and organizational requirements while supporting operational needs and risk mitigation efforts.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • 5+ years of experience in physical security systems, security technology, or protective systems management.
  • Certification in access control systems, CCTV, IDS, and alarm monitoring platforms (e.g., C-Cure 9000, Milestone, Barco, Hanwha, Rapid Response, or similar).
  • Willingness to travel
  • Project management skills
  • Architectural drawing review experience
  • Working Knowledge of 009.72 & NISPOM Rule
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience with access control systems and CCTV equipment
  • Ability to travel frequently to various Electric Boat Facilitie
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in team environment with minimal oversight
  • Working Knowledge of Standard Item 009.72 & NISPOM
  • Familiarity with physical security standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Technical Documentation tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DoD, Federal, or classified facilities.
  • Knowledge of NISPOM, UFC, ICD 705, SI 009.72 or related security directives.
  • Knowledge of Motorola MotoTrbo / Astro 2 Way Radio Systems
  • Security certifications such as CPP, PSP, or PMP
  • Experience with security system design, integration, and vendor management.
  • OSHA 30
  • Familiarity with the Electric Boat shipyard, Quonset Point and Offsite Facilities

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain physical security technologies including access control systems, video surveillance (CCTV), Intrusion detection, alarm monitoring, turnstiles, other protective measures.
  • Support the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of security systems for new and existing facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable DoD, NISPOM, ICD, DCSA, and company physical security requirements, as applicable.
  • Conduct security risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and systems evaluations to determine appropriate protection levels based on facility function, information sensitivity, and assets.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation, including system diagrams, SOPs, policies, procedures, and protection plans.
  • Coordinate with IT, Facilities, Engineering, and external vendors to support system integration and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor system performance and investigate security incidents, alarms, and system anomalies, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Support audits, inspections and compliance reviews by internal and external authorities.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to security personnel and end users on security systems and procedures.
  • Assist with lifecycle management, and procurement of security technologies and protection equipment.
