JOIN OUR TEAM AS A SECURITY TECHNICIAN/MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN (MHT)! Schedule: 3p-11:30p, (5) shifts per week, including every other weekend Shift differentials available depending on the shift. As a Security Tech/Mental Health Technician (MHT), you'll be an integral part of our treatment team, providing continuous care, supervision, and positive role modeling to patients across various age groups from preschool to geriatrics. Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas. Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed. Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property. Accurately record vital signs Exercise judgment in patient interactions and report changes to the RN Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team and provide information for development and revision Employ crisis-intervention techniques, conduct MHT-led groups, and use facility-approved CPI techniques Assist patients through discharge, guide in adjusting to life changes, and help with personal hygiene Comply with policies for a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment, practicing universal precautions and responding to patient care priorities.
Requirements
- Education: High School Degree or equivalent preferred; or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.
- Experience: One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
- Licensure: Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.
- Additional Skill Requirements: May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
