Are you an experienced MEP engineer, architectural designer, fire system designer, or low voltage designer who thrives on independence, precision, and purpose-driven work? At IK Systems, we're looking for a Security Systems Design Engineer to create the design and documentation of integrated security solutions - including access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, structured cabling, and more. This is more than a drafter role. You'll own the drawing process, collaborate with sales, and guide technical designs that power security infrastructure for critical clients. If you know Revit inside and out, are a CAD designer or a BIM coordinator, have low voltage system design experience, and are ready for a role where you set the pace - let's talk.

  • Create and manage detailed Revit-based technical drawings for integrated security and structured cabling systems
  • Partner with sales engineers during proposal phases to develop system layouts, schematics, and riser diagrams
  • Interpret client requirements, field data, and specifications to produce accurate, code-compliant designs
  • Deliver submittal and as-built documentation in coordination with engineering and operations teams
  • Own your workload and project timelines with autonomy, while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver successful solutions
  • 5+ years of drafting/design experience, preferably in low voltage or systems integration
  • Advanced Revit proficiency is essential, with ability to work in a BIM environment
  • Understanding of low voltage systems, including CCTV, access control, intercom, intrusion detection, and structured cabling
  • Knowledge of ANSI/TIA standards (568, 569, 606)
  • Hold NICET or alarm certification
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and proactively across departments
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field - or equivalent combination of relevant experience, certifications, and demonstrated Revit proficiency.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Simple IRA with company match
  • Generous paid time off & holidays
  • Professional development opportunities in a fast-evolving industry
