As a Security Systems Programming and Commissioning Specialist at M.C. Dean, Inc., you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of electronic security installation projects. This position requires a strong understanding of how to interpret technical drawings and programming sheets, as well as the ability to configure devices to meet specified requirements. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues in the field and ensuring that all systems pass acceptance testing. Your expertise will be essential in pretesting electronic security equipment before deployment, performing quality audits of security drawings, and conducting site surveys to document conditions using Bluebeam software. In this role, you will configure various field devices, which includes applying IP addresses to cameras, uploading firmware to access control boards, and using access control software to set up door access control devices. You will also troubleshoot security field devices such as cameras, access-controlled doors, and network switches. Marking up drawings with Bluebeam and updating programming sheets with device configuration data will be part of your daily tasks. Additionally, you will lead system commissioning activities in collaboration with the customer's testing agent and support multiple project tasks concurrently. The position is based on-site in Austin, Texas, and requires flexibility to commute to various project sites. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to travel to other locations for surveys, commissioning, and troubleshooting support. Hands-on experience with wiring panels, testing devices, and troubleshooting systems will be advantageous. This role may also involve working in diverse environments, including office settings and on-site locations, where you will need to adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
