About the position

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Security Support - Journeyman to join our team in Dayton, Ohio. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our national defense and security programs, particularly in Special Access Programs (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) facilities. As a Security professional at MTSI, you will engage daily with program managers, engineers, financial managers, and other security personnel, ensuring that our operations align with the highest standards of security and compliance. Your work will directly contribute to the modernization and support of defense systems, providing our troops with the best possible tools to succeed in their missions. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of security support services in a classified work environment. This includes program security management support, where you will develop and implement security policies and guidance for conducting classified operations. You will also administer the personnel security program, advising unit personnel on current policies and procedures for obtaining and maintaining access to SAP/SCI/CNWDI. Your attention to detail and excellent customer service skills will be essential as you process and review security documentation, manage access quotas, and maintain accurate personnel security files. Additionally, you will oversee the physical security of classified facilities, ensuring compliance with entry control measures and conducting regular security checks. Your responsibilities will also extend to operations security (OPSEC) program administration, where you will assist in identifying vulnerabilities and implementing countermeasures to protect classified operations. You will support the development and implementation of security education and training programs tailored to meet the specific needs of the unit, ensuring that all personnel are well-informed about security requirements and best practices. This position requires a proactive approach to security, with a focus on continuous learning and growth. You will be expected to maintain appropriate accreditation documentation for special compartmented information facilities (SCIF) and report any derogatory information on personnel to the Special Security Office (SSO). Your ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently will be critical in this fast-paced environment, where you will be expected to make a meaningful impact through your work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall security support and management oversight for all unit SAP/SCI activities.
  • Develop and implement security policy and guidance for conducting classified operations and activities.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to unit personnel in accordance with program directives and security classification guides.
  • Develop detailed security products such as National Interest Determinations, Standard Operating Procedures, and security plans.
  • Process, review, and edit unit and incoming security documentation including Facility Accreditations and Test Plans.
  • Advise unit personnel on current personnel security policies and procedures for obtaining and maintaining SAP/SCI access.
  • Assist in managing SAP access quotas and maintain program access rosters.
  • Prepare and review Program Access Requests in accordance with the Special Access Program Nomination Process.
  • Review DISS/DCII databases to confirm clearance information and send visit certifications.
  • Maintain accurate unit personnel security files containing all required documents.
  • Prepare and dispatch classified mail packages to other agencies, ensuring proper protection and transmission of classified materials.
  • Be responsible for the physical security of classified facilities, including entry control and conducting entry/exit checks.
  • Assist in identifying OPSEC indicators and vulnerabilities to protect classified operations.
  • Support the development and implementation of SAP/SCI security education and training programs.
  • Administer the SCI security program and maintain applicable SCI directives/regulations if TS/SCI cleared.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant DoD work experience (years of experience may be waiverable with customer approval).
  • 18+ months' experience in a SAP or SCI environment (SAP experience may be waiverable with customer approval).
  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (BA/BS) (Experience may be considered in lieu of education).
  • Possess an active Top Secret security clearance, based upon a Single Scope Background (SSBI/SBPR).
  • Must be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP) access.
