About The Position

Working with the Director of Security on the day-to-day operation of the site/shift, a Security Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, visitors, and hospital property. Their duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Kentucky Driver’s license and clean driving record.
Proficient use of technology including computers, software, and mobile technology
1-year Security or related experience preferred.
Must pass and maintain certification for Taser/CEW, De-Escalation, Handcuffing, up to Instructor Certification, if assigned.
Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) preferred.
Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (CAHSO) preferred.
Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (CHSS) required or obtained within 1 year of hire/appointment date

Nice To Haves

Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) preferred.
Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (CAHSO) preferred.

Responsibilities

Assumes charge responsibilities in the absence of the Director and takes lead role in responding to emergencies or major occurrences that require departmental intervention.
Ensures department philosophy and expectations for service are met.
Participates in interviewing and hiring process for operational staff.
Evaluates capability, performance, efficiency and appearance of staff on a routine basis.
Assesses and participates in the training needs of operational staff.
Appropriately maintains work schedules for Security Officers and oversees distribution of departmental equipment and issued items such as uniforms and the maintenance thereof.
Assures compliance with all laws, regulations, and guidelines of federal and state programs with an emphasis on prevention of fraud, waste and abuse.
