About The Position

As the Security Supervisor at The Salt Shed, you play a critical role in creating a safe and memorable concert experience for our guests. Whether checking bags, monitoring access points, or securing the stage, a successful security team always puts guest safety first. Our Security Supervisors serve as role models for the team, demonstrating leadership while helping provide a friendly, professional, and safe guest experience. This is a part-time, event based role with increased hours (up to 30+ per week) during peak spring, summer, and fall seasons, based on business needs and availability.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of security experience in a venue, event, or hospitality environment; leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Current PERC license preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team
  • Experience with common venue security responsibilities such as bag checks, metal detectors/wanding, crowd control, and handling guest issues
  • Calm, professional, and guest-focused approach
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, holidays, and late hours
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to de-escalate situations involving intoxicated or disruptive guests
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a loud indoor or outdoor environment
  • Commitment to inclusivity and respect for all cultures, music, and art forms

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CCTV or security systems is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support overall event security operations, working with venue management and security partners to ensure smooth and effective coverage
  • Oversee staff deployment during events, including assigning posts, sharing key information, and ensuring breaks are covered
  • Manage guest flow, access points, and crowd control to maintain a safe environment
  • Respond to and de-escalate guest issues, including handling ejections and escalating when needed
  • Support access operations, including bag checks, metal detectors, wanding, and credential verification
  • Monitor the venue and surrounding areas for safety concerns and take action or notify management as needed
  • Provide leadership during emergency situations, including evacuations and medical incidents
  • Assist guests with wayfinding and general questions to support a positive experience
  • Complete incident reports and communicate key updates to management
  • May work shifts at other 16 On Center venues or support additional projects as needed
