About The Position

The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day security operations across multiple facilities in Michigan. This role involves managing a team of security officers, both armed and unarmed, while ensuring strict compliance with company policies and Michigan's legal requirements. The Security Supervisor will act as the lead in managing escalated security incidents and coordinating emergency response efforts.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL) to carry a firearm while on duty.
  • Completion of an approved firearms training course (classroom instruction and range practice).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage security teams effectively.
  • Knowledge of Michigan state-specific security regulations and firearms laws.
  • Proficiency in using security technologies such as CCTV and access control systems.
  • Experience with de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, and crisis management.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of experience in security, including 1+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Previous experience in a high-security environment such as cannabis, law enforcement, or military.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and be on-call for emergencies.

Nice To Haves

  • First Aid/CPR certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the security team, ensuring high performance across all shifts.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for security personnel and provide ongoing training.
  • Assist the Regional Security Manager in developing and implementing security protocols and emergency response plans.
  • Manage security personnel scheduling to ensure full coverage, including nights and weekends.
  • Oversee security operations and ensure compliance with state regulations and company policies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalated security incidents, coordinating swift and effective responses.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Security Manager to identify vulnerabilities and implement process improvements.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and drills to ensure facility safety and security.
  • Lead emergency response efforts, coordinating with law enforcement and other external agencies as needed.
  • Monitor and manage security systems, including surveillance (CCTV) and access control.
  • Ensure compliance with Michigan state laws regarding firearms and security personnel licensing.
