About the position

The Security Specialist position at the Department of Defense involves serving as a Foreign Disclosure Security Specialist, responsible for managing the Foreign Disclosure Program and ensuring compliance with security policies. The role includes administering the Information Security Program, maintaining personnel security, and addressing security violations. The specialist will also determine the need-to-know for classified and unclassified information requests.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Foreign Disclosure Security Specialist responsible for the Foreign Disclosure Program.
• Maintain the Personnel Security Program in compliance with DoD and local policies.
• Administer the Information Security Program through development of instructions and procedures.
• Conduct program reviews and inspections related to security activities.
• Interpret U.S. Army regulations to solve security problems and fulfill requests for information.
• Perform duties in Foreign Disclosure, Information Security, Personnel Security, and Industrial Security.
• Determine need-to-know and release classified and unclassified reports to requestors.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• Experience facilitating processes for Foreign National visits and information release.
• Knowledge of foreign disclosure regulations and policies, such as National Disclosure Policy.
• Experience in at least one General Intelligence Security discipline: Personnel Security, Information Security, or Industrial Security.
