About The Position

NextGen is seeking a proactive Special Security Representative to manage and support a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) for an Army customer at Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG), MD. Primary duties include Physical Security (PHYSEC), Access Control, Personnel Security (PERSEC), Communications Security (COMSEC), Operations Security (OPSEC), and Safety for the classified facility.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated, relevant experience.
  • Experience working in security capacity with Army, Joint Staff, and/or DoD organizations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated with strong oral and written communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail to operate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI level security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage access control for the secure facility, including managing, monitoring, and controlling the Security Management System (SMS).
  • Monitor for and report any subversive activities affecting classified information, the facility, or personnel.
  • Monitor and control destruction of classified and sensitive information.
  • Conducting security training and education.
  • Use DISS/NBIS and Scattered Castles to perform personnel security functions.
  • Courier classified materials.
  • Create, coordinate and distribute security and safety communications.
  • Develop, administer, and maintain Standard Operating Policies/Procedures for classified facilities as well as classified and/or proprietary materials, documentation, and equipment.
  • Accredit and audit open storage areas in secure facilities.
  • Maintain, monitor, arm, and disarm the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and review IDS reports.
  • Conduct safety and security inspections as required.
  • Study, understand, and implement DoD and Army security regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare manuals; outline regulations and establish procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records.
  • Grant personnel and visitors access to restricted records and materials.
  • Investigate security violations and prepare reports specifying preventive actions to be taken.
  • Serve as COMSEC Local Element authorized to control COMSEC for systems within SCIF.
  • Provide Safety oversight and promote safety compliance within the facility.
