About The Position

The Security Specialist will be a key member of the physical security team, responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's video surveillance and access control systems. This role requires a hands-on expert who can manage security infrastructure from design and installation to daily operations and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of security industry best practices and technical systems.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience working directly with video surveillance & access control systems or systems engineering.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Empahsis in Security Systems, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, or related fields is a plus.
  • Proven proficiency in designing, installing, and troubleshooting physical security hardware and software.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IP networking, servers, storage, and PoE (Power over Ethernet) for security applications.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server, Windows Server, Google Suite.
  • Position requires flexibility and availability outside of normal working hours.
  • Must be able to travel domestically; <5%.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with enterprise level Avigilon Unity Video (VMS), Avigilon Access Control Manager (ACM), or similar platforms like for access control and IP video.
  • Relevant industry certifications and specialized training; access control / CCTV or other security certifications.
  • Experience in a Security Specialist or Engineering role focused on physical security solutions.
  • Proficiency in developing Bills of Materials and detailed cost estimates for complex security projects.

Responsibilities

  • System Management & Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all physical security infrastructure, including IP video surveillance (CCTV), video management systems, and enterprise access control hardware and software.
  • Global Project Management: Lead and manage end-to-end security system upgrade and new installation projects for corporate facilities worldwide. Manage third-party security integrators and contractors for installation and maintenance across different regions.
  • Technical Support: Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and provide advanced technical support to internal stakeholders and end-users for all security systems.
  • Project Support: Support RFP responses, system design specifications, and quoting for new installations and system enhancements. Track project deliverables and status along with vendor engagement.
  • Global Coordination: Collaborate with regional facilities teams, IT networking teams, and legal departments to ensure system deployments meet local regulatory and data privacy requirements.
  • Training & Documentation: Deliver product training to end-users and internal teams, and ensure all system documentation and procedures are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Compliance & Audits: Conduct physical security audits and assist in ensuring all systems are compliant with internal policies and external regulations.
