About The Position

The Security Specialist is responsible for protecting Army and Air National Guard installations, military personnel, civilians, and property from various hazards and threats. This role involves patrolling, maintaining security, responding to emergencies, and enforcing laws and regulations to ensure safety and order within military installations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in protecting life or property in armed forces, police, or fire fighting organizations.
• Knowledge of security procedures and techniques for military installations.
• Ability to pass an annual physical fitness test and maintain physical conditioning.
• Capacity to utilize computers and security equipment for monitoring and communication.

• Experience with law enforcement or military security operations.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures.
• Familiarity with crowd control techniques.

Responsibilities

• Protect Army and Air National Guard installations and personnel against hazards and threats.
• Patrol on foot or in a vehicle to maintain security and law and order.
• Respond to threats and emergencies, maintaining order until first responders arrive.
• Control entry and exit of personnel and vehicles at installation points.
• Provide crowd control and maintain order at events on military installations.
• Detain suspects and secure potential evidence according to laws and procedures.
• Conduct searches of individuals and vehicles at entry points and throughout the installation.
• Gather information and report suspicious activities.
• Implement and monitor evacuation procedures during emergencies.
• Investigate and report accidents occurring within military installations.
• Enforce standards of conduct within the installation.
