Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience determined sufficient by the company.
  • Must meet and maintain all licensing requirements for Security Officers.
  • Leadership, professionalism, and the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and approachable demeanor.

  • Working knowledge of security operations, patrol methods, safety controls, and inspection practices.
  • Ability to learn quickly, follow written/oral instructions, and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong organizational and written communication skills, with the ability to draft routine reports and logs.
  • Ability to maintain composure, especially under pressure or during unusual circumstances.

  • Frequent interaction with staff, clients, the public, and authorities; may involve urgent situations requiring quick judgment.
  • Exposure to stressful scenarios, including confronting unauthorized individuals.
  • Must pass background checks, drug screening, and behavioral assessments, and meet all licensing requirements.
  • May be required to work overtime without advance notice.
  • Regular use of computers and security control systems.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking-including stairs, inclines, and uneven terrain.
  • Occasional reaching, kneeling, stooping, crouching, or crawling.
  • Frequent lifting/moving up to 10 lbs; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Clear communication abilities (seeing, hearing, speaking, writing) are required.
  • Use of a vehicle may be required.
  • Potential exposure to inclement weather and environments requiring protective gear.
  • Handling of sensitive and confidential information may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Security Officers, Lead Officers, and other assigned personnel at one or more posts; ensures post orders are followed, patrols/rounds are completed, and all reports are properly filed.
  • Responds to incidents and notifies appropriate client representatives and authorities in emergency situations.
  • Coaches, counsels, and disciplines personnel appropriately; documents all coaching and disciplinary actions; consults with company management as needed.
  • Trains security staff and reviews post orders and assignment details with subordinates.
  • Assists with submission of payroll and personnel information as designated by management.
  • Ensures adequate coverage of all posts in coordination with company management or designated representatives.
  • Conducts regular site inspections and meets with officers to outline expectations, tasks, and responsibilities.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the client-meeting as scheduled or as needed to confirm security requirements are being met and delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Implements security protocols, policies, and procedures tailored to the specific needs of the Rochester site.
  • Monitors ongoing security operations and responds promptly to incidents, including coordination with emergency services when necessary.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed logs of activities, incidents, schedules, and personnel documentation.
  • Prepares and submits all required written reports to management and client contacts.
  • May perform Security Officer duties in accordance with post orders and company policies.
  • Performs supervisory duties aligned with company policy and applicable law, including interviewing, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, coaching, addressing complaints, and making hiring/termination recommendations.
