About The Position

The Security Shift Supervisor assists management in presiding over shift, monitoring and evaluating employees, department shift inventory, shift coverage, and ensuring the safety of guests.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and two to three (2-3) years experience in Casino security.
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ability to multitask and work as part of the team and to promote a cooperative approach between departments.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Suite and Adobe.
  • Knowledge and understanding of security protocols and procedures.
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures and the ability to act swiftly in critical situations.
  • Understanding and proficiency in using security technology such as surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarms.
  • Strong observation skills to detect unusual or suspicious activities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for reporting incidents and interacting with others.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts calmly and professionally.
  • Ability to analyze situations quickly and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and make decisions in dynamic environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other security personnel, as well as coordinate with law enforcement if necessary.
  • Keen attention to detail to notice subtle changes in the environment or behavior.
  • Required to obtain and maintain a Seneca Cayuga tribal gaming license and a state issued I.D.
  • All applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening prior to beginning employment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Position requires walking and standing for entire shifts.
  • Ability to maintain visual attention and mental concentration for extended periods of time and lift a minimum of 45 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a casino environment which includes high levels of smoke, dust, noise, and bright flashing lights.
  • Position requires flexibility to work any shift including weekends and holidays.
  • You must be able to pass a drug screen with negative results.
  • Employees are expected to know existing Grand Lake Casino policies and know to refer to those policies when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience, two to three (2-3) years experience in casino security, and two to three (2-3) years supervisory or management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and leading a team of employees during a specific shift.
  • Ensures that workflow processes are followed and that tasks are completed on time.
  • Creating and managing shift schedules for department employees.
  • Training new employees on departmental processes, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Monitoring the quality of work and output produced by the department.
  • Ensuring that all safety regulations and protocols are followed.
  • Facilitating communication between team members and other departments.
  • Addressing and resolving issues or conflicts that may arise during the shift.
  • Managing resources, such as equipment, materials, and supplies, to support departmental activities.
  • Tracking and assessing the performance of individual team members.
  • Ensuring that guest service standards are met or exceeded.
  • Maintaining accurate records of shift activities, including production reports and incident reports.
  • Patrols and secures all areas (inside and outside) of Casino.
  • Operates a radio using signals/codes established by the Casino
  • Reports unusual or suspicious activity, occurrences or incidents to the Casino Shift Manager.
  • Responds to unruly or intoxicated guests.
  • Submits accurate and truthful reports concerning incidents or infractions involving customers, employees or themselves.
  • Escorts staff, vendors and contractors to and from sensitive areas of the Casino .
  • Keeps hourly head counts of patrons.
  • Relieves and operates the dispatch desk as required.
  • Assists Human Resources when needed (drug test, walk outs).
  • Provides basic fire fighting, first aid and safety response.
