SUPERVISES: Security Officers REPORTS TO: Security Manager EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of Local/State/Federal regulation. EXPERIENCE: One (1) year law enforcement or security. Prior security supervisory experience required. Valid Driver’s License. Strong verbal and written communication skills. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Promote and maintain an atmosphere of Customer Service excellence and attention to detail. Must be able to be approved by and maintain licensure with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Must be able to work any shift as needed, as well as be on-call for emergencies. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Monitors and evaluates performance of security officers, ensuring adherence to casino and Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board policies and procedures. Documents and recommends corrective actions for security staff. Responsible for assignment of personnel as needed. Assist as directed with the proper assignment of keys through the Key-Watcher to authorized personnel. Assists with all security functions on a shift basis; prepares and maintains all security department personnel paperwork and files. Trains and supervises security shift employees; schedules and evaluates all assigned personnel. Trained to operate safety/fire equipment in emergency situations in conjunction with fire command. Ensures that all Security officer personnel are qualified and properly trained on all procedures, emergency response tactics, customer service, and conflict resolution to maintain a high level of proficiency in designated hired roles. Responsible for physical safety of natural persons, physical safeguarding of assets, protecting the property, patrons and the slot machine licensee from illegal activity. Collaborate with Human Resources regarding the implementation and enforcement for the issuance of property access badges and temporary access credentials. Collaborate with HR and legal departments to manage internal investigations and assist with Risk Management issues. Responsible for ensuring Security Department compliance with all Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Internal Control’s. Responsible for ensuring Security Department compliance with all Happy Valley Casino policies & procedures. Build and maintain a strong working relationship with all regulatory bodies including, local & state Police, Liquor Control Board, and Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Ensures that all Security incidents and reports are thoroughly investigated and are reported on all incidents, accidents, disturbances, or criminal activities on Happy Valley Casino property. Coordinate surveillance activities with the surveillance department to detect and prevent theft, cheating, and suspicious behavior. Maintain a visible presence on the casino floor and throughout the property. Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures. Manage the use and maintenance of security technologies such as CCTV systems, access control, alarms, communication tools, and fire alarm & fire suppression systems. The writing, recording and approval of incidents reports within the licensed facility involving HVC patrons or staff. Each incident shall be recorded in an incident reporting database by security department personnel in an electronic format which has an audit function that prevents modification of information after the information has been entered into the system. The following information shall be recorded: The assignment number of the incident. The date and time. The nature of the incident. The persons involved in the incident. The security department employees assigned to cover the incident. The identification and removal of any person who is required to be excluded or ejected from the licensed facility based on the PGCB exclusion or self-exclusion lists. The performance of the duties and responsibilities required under the system of internal controls submitted and approved under § 465a.2. Enforces the prohibition of individuals, including security department personnel, from possessing any deadly weapon as defined in 10 Pa.C.S. § 2301, stun gun or other device designed to injure or incapacitate a person, within a licensed facility without the expressed written approval of the PGCB PGCB § 465a.13 (relating to possession of weapons within a licensed facility). The immediate notification to supervisors designated in the internal controls and the PGCB’s casino compliance representatives and the Pennsylvania State Police at the licensed facility. upon detecting the following: any person who is engaging in or attempting to engage in, or who is suspected of cheating, theft, embezzlement, a violation of this part or other illegal activities. any person who is required to be excluded or ejected from the HVC or is self-excluded from the gaming floor and gaming activities at all licensed facilities as per PGCB regulations. Ensure proper investigations of injured persons on property. Conduct or assist with all criminal investigations (except gaming issue violations). Responsible for safeguarding all company assets. Reviews of all Security Crime/Incident/Medical and Arrest reports. Maintains and controls access to restricted Casino facilities and departments. Ensure compliance with all federal and state gaming regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Promotes outstanding customer relations. Requirements Minimum of 1-year related experience in Security/Law Enforcement and/or training in a high-volume complex casino environment or equivalent. Must be able to be approved and maintain licensure as required by Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Must develop a knowledge of approved Responsible Gambling Program. Must develop a thorough knowledge of applicable Federal and State Law, as well as Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Regulations. Be able to acquire Certification in CPR and First Aid. Strong organizational and leadership qualities, interpersonal skills and dedicated commitment to excellence. Exceptional communication skills for interacting with staff & clients. Able to lift and carry 30 lbs. occasionally. Able to stand and walk 6-8 hours.
