Requirements

Must have a valid NJ SORA License
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Supervisory experience
Reliable transportation
Must be flexible with hours and able to work weekends
Great customer service skills
Experience with report writing

Nice To Haves

Prior supervisory experience in security, logistics, or warehouse environments.
Strong report writing and communication skills.
Experience working at trucking yards, ports, or distribution centers
Ability to manage high-volume truck traffic and multiple security posts
Comfortable using computers and security management systems

Responsibilities

Supervise and support security officers assigned to the site to ensure all posts are properly staffed and operating efficiently.
Ensure all guards follow site procedures including truck check-in/check-out, yard checks, and trailer verification.
Conduct routine patrols of the yard, warehouse areas, and gate operations to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Monitor inbound and outbound truck traffic and verify load information, trailer numbers, and driver identification when required.
Train new security officers on site procedures, post orders, and security systems such as yard management platforms.
Maintain accurate reports including incident reports, daily activity reports, and yard check logs.
Ensure all required logs are completed correctly and submitted on time.
Address performance issues and provide coaching, retraining, or corrective action when necessary.
Serve as the main point of contact between security staff, site management, and company leadership.
Respond to incidents, emergencies, or security concerns and ensure proper documentation and escalation when necessary.
Conduct shift briefings to communicate important updates, safety concerns, and operational changes.
Ensure compliance with company policies and client site rules.
Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and maintaining proper staffing levels.
Maintain a strong security presence and lead by example to ensure professionalism and accountability across the team
A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
The Shift Supervisor must read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP, and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
