About The Position

The Security and Safety Officer at Cranbrook Educational Community is responsible for promoting and providing general security and safety across the campus. This role involves patrolling the campus, responding to emergencies, and ensuring the safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in security, safety, loss prevention, or similar work background preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens Training required or to be obtained within 30 days of hiring.
• Knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS), IP based cameras, access control, fire systems, and two-way radios preferred.
• General computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
• Valid Michigan driver's license with satisfactory driving record required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with IP based cameras and access control systems.
• Familiarity with fire systems and two-way radios.

Responsibilities

• Patrol Cranbrook Campus by vehicle and foot.
• Respond to calls for assistance and campus emergencies.
• Perform shift-specific unlocks and lockups.
• Control traffic and report safety and security concerns or hazards.
• Deter criminal acts against property, vehicles, and individuals on campus.
