About The Position

The position involves providing security services with professionalism, fairness, and compassion in challenging circumstances, in accordance with policies, procedures, and training. The role requires maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor to inspire confidence in patients, visitors, and team members. Responsibilities include ensuring safety and security through routine patrols, inspections, and responding to emergencies. The officer will also liaise with law enforcement and provide security awareness education to team members.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in security, public safety, or customer service.
  • Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) license issued by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
  • Valid driver’s license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
  • Certified in Conducted Energy Weapon (Taser) use within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) issued by the International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS).
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise mature judgment and sound reasoning.
  • Experience in quickly assessing dangerous situations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides security services with professionalism, fairness, and compassion.
  • Maintains a professional, approachable, and service-oriented appearance.
  • Complies with and enforces all safety and security rules and regulations.
  • Performs routine responsibilities during interior and exterior patrols.
  • Conducts inspections to identify vulnerabilities, hazards, and fire conditions.
  • Assists team members, patients, and visitors by providing information and directions.
  • Ensures traffic control and monitors conduct of visitors.
  • Prevents, responds to, and investigates workplace violence.
  • Serves as a primary resource for de-escalation.
  • Responds immediately to emergency and crisis situations.
  • Investigates incidents and completes timely and accurate reports.
  • Delivers security awareness education to team members.
  • Coordinates with law enforcement and first responder agencies.
  • May serve as a precept for newly hired officers.
