About The Position

The primary role of Apache Behavioral Health Services Security Managers is to develop and implement effective security strategies and protocols to protect the company against threats, theft, vandalism and other security risks. This involves conducting risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and devising appropriate security measures. To mitigate risks, they develop emergency response plans, conduct drills and training sessions and monitor surveillance systems to respond to security incidents promptly. In case of security breaches, they investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. The Security Manager will develop emergency procedures, respond to incidents, and resolve problems or request assistance of local authorities. This is considered a working supervisory role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in security management, law enforcement or the armed forces, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of security technologies, incident management software and other security-related equipment, such as access control systems and CCTV surveillance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement security policies, procedures and programs.
  • Proficiency in security assessments, audits and investigations at a large scale.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse security team.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying and mitigating security risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal and customer service skills with an ability to work effectively and harmoniously with a wide range of people, teams, managers, supervisors.
  • MS Office proficiency, including the ability to correctly operate a copier and fax machine.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment testing, including, but not limited to, fingerprint clearance and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement extensive security plans, policies and procedures to protect personnel, assets and information.
  • Lead, train and supervise a team of security personnel, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Suggest security improvements and act as a knowledge expert resource for other team members, using sound judgment to perform in the identification, assessment, analysis and solving of a broad spectrum of security/safety/client services issues.
  • Manage access control systems, surveillance equipment and other security technologies to ensure proper functioning and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as human resources and IT, to ensure compliance with security protocols and standards.
  • Investigate security breaches, incidents and violations, document findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external partners, such as law enforcement agencies and security vendors, to enhance security capabilities.
  • Educate employees on security awareness, policies and procedures through training programs and communication initiatives.
  • Stay informed about the latest security technologies, trends and regulatory requirements and make recommendations for enhancements to the security program.
  • Design a standard Security Reporting Process, train other security associates with the process, and write and submit security reports.
  • Oversee the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of Security Associates.
  • Responsible for remaining prepared for situations, while utilizing both critical thinking skills, and relying on training to provide ABHS sites with an effective & efficient response to all site emergencies, basic first-aid responses, safety concerns and protection of any or all ABHS Clients, Guests, Employees and Property, both physical and intellectual.
  • Maintain all security devices and products to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Ensure all security systems, like the burglar alarms are working properly.
  • Initiate discipline measures for Security Associates whenever necessary, according to ABHS Policies & Procedures (P&Ps).
  • Ensure compliance with ABHS P&Ps and regulations while implementing security measures.
  • Extensive knowledge of security protocol and procedures.
  • Develop and implement preventative measures against accidents, thefts, and other related risks.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide training on security policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work with confidential and classified information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Prepare and conduct training for new hires and current staff, including training on workplace searches, drug and alcohol procedures, and related safety and security topics.
  • Provides and/or implements security and security protocols for all assigned facilities and information systems.
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, including loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and expels person engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
  • Required to implement ABHS safety programs, evaluating safety concerns, and identifying solutions to continuously improve site safety.
  • Must be knowledgeable of applicable safety standards, and when necessary, be able to perform and lead others in critical thinking resolutions to reduce incidents and mitigate hazards.
  • Perform security duties/projects as requested by supervisor or other members of ABHS Management.
  • Attends all staff meetings, in-service training or other ABHS staff functions as directed/required.
  • Provide responsive, high-quality service to ABHS employees, representatives of outside agencies, and members of the public by providing accurate, complete, and up-to-date information, in a courteous, efficient and timely manner.
  • Must maintain a strict code of ethics regarding client/staff confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA regulations.
  • All client information is to be kept in strict confidentiality with communication limited to appropriate personnel.
  • Abide by all applicable policies, procedures, and program standards of ABHS, White Mountain Apache Tribe, Indian Health Services, Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) and other pertinent regulatory authorities.
  • Participation in all required ABHS training.
  • Reports/attends work in timely manner.
  • Must be reliable and communicate directly with supervisor in all matters of attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
