About The Position

This role serves as the functional expert in safety and security knowledge and education across MACU branch properties. This role serves as the key driver of the security program’s effectiveness, helping to establish a replicable model that enhances branch-level security, reduces risk exposure, and supports the broader organizational goals across regions. Through these means, the Regional Security Ambassador can ensure a safe and secure environment for employees, credit union members, and the public.

Requirements

  • Five years or more of related experience
  • Law enforcement and/or military service or other government law enforcement experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Maintain a Utah (or state equivalent) concealed carry permit and/or maintain authorization firearm carry through H.R. 218, the Law Enforcement Officers' Safety Act.
  • Current or previous POST Category I certification or Armed Guard Certification required.
  • CPR, Advanced First Aid preferred or to obtain within first 90 days.
  • Ability to pass firearm qualification within first 30 days.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Highly skilled and considered expert in de-escalation of high stress and complex situations involving public safety of visitors, vendors, employees, and members.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Explains detailed and complicated information to eliminate future calls by educating on self-service options
  • Takes ownership for personal learning and development, and contributes to the development of others
  • Requires full proficiency gained through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience to perform a range of tasks
  • Completes work with a limited degree of supervision
  • Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks

  • Responsible for passing annual firearm qualification.

  • Ability to remain alert at all times and to detect suspicious or unusual occurrences.
  • Ability to use good judgment, discretion, and tact and react quickly to situations.

  • Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the training and onboarding of new branch team members on security systems, awareness and protocols.
  • Acts as a brand ambassador through excellent public-facing interactions and a professional image with superior service and support at every interaction.
  • Works directly in branches where needs may arise.
  • Responsible for regular and continual branch security evaluations and trainings.
  • Maintains ownership of assigned branches in region for security and business needs.
  • Takes initiative to visit assigned branches biweekly to maintain relationships with branch personnel to create a partnership between member service and security.
  • First responder to emergency situations and security incidents.
  • Works as a close partner and assists with Operational Security Administrators
  • Assists in company-wide branch training for robbery protocol and security/safety programs.
  • Facilitates in resolving and analyzing incidents via metric analysis and best in class industry physical security standards.
  • Works across all departments and teams, including executives, in the proper education of safety/security procedures and implementation of security measures.
  • Integral contributor on security project delivery and management through close partnership with Operational Security Administrators.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality involving Security incidents and employee relations.
  • Patrols facility, on foot and or vehicle.
  • Protects persons and property against vandalism, arson, prowlers and other conditions that could lead to loss of life or property.
  • Works with Operational Security Administrators in the supervision and maintenance of physical security controls of all buildings.
  • Analyses physical security risks for all MACU locations.
  • Monitors door access, alarm, and surveillance systems.
  • Investigates suspicious activity on MACU properties.
  • Considered a strong partner and liaison in the resolution, response, and involvement of local law enforcement involving MACU property security incidents (robbery response, public safety, criminal activity, etc.)
  • Responsible for law enforcement report filings, incident management, and ensuring proper relationship management.
  • Maintains and ensures proper incident report processing and system compliance.
  • Assists the general public, visitors and employees by answering questions, locating offices and escorting to specific locations.
  • Track and complete all Service Now Tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
