About The Position

Vaxcom Services LLC (a Parsons company) is looking for a talented Security Program Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to lead the largest armed security officer program in the company supporting sensitive facilities and personnel. What You'll Be Doing: Providing daily guidance, direction, leadership, and mentoring to a large group (50+) of armed security supervisors, team leads, and line officers assigned to classified, sensitive facilities throughout the northern VA area. Working with the Vaxcom Security Training Program Manager to create, review, revise and deliver mandatory training courses in order to keep officers' required certifications current. Working with Client leadership to address and resolve issues on a daily basis ensuring that Vaxcom leadership is kept aware. Enforces Post Orders, Vaxcom/Client rules, and facility regulations. Assists Vaxcom leadership in maintaining and enhancing program performance over time. Acts as a resource to supervisors and armed security officers in the program helping them to resolve issues and address problems at the lowest level. This will require travel to multiple facilities in the Northern VA area and availability for after hours calls for emergency situations. Maintains and builds relationships with the Client and other stakeholders. Demonstrating outstanding communication skills to include verbal, written, and briefing. Overseeing the staffing scheduling as needed ensuring that all shifts and posts are adequately covered 24/7. Performing time and attendance certification on a weekly basis. Participating in recruitment activities as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of related physical security experience or high school diploma plus 10 years+ of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of leadership/supervisory experience at any level.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal, written, briefing, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues at the lowest level ensuring all stakeholders are kept apprised.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with Client leadership and the Program Manager on a daily basis to address issues, changes, and modifications that will impact job requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in providing mentoring/coaching to teammates or subordinates to improve performance and give career guidance.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays on an "as needed" basis. This will require travel to multiple Northern VA facilities and availability for after hours calls for emergency situations.
  • Flexibility to take on ad hoc responsibilities and prioritize competing assignments/tasks.
  • Must have or previously held armed DCJS certification with both the handgun and patrol rifle.
  • An active Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph security clearance is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years experience working as an armed security officer, preferably at a classified or sensitive facility.
  • 5+ years experience as a manager/supervisor of 10+ people.
  • 2+ years in either law enforcement/Department of Corrections, or the US Military.
  • Experience working with senior leadership.
  • Experience in shift staffing/scheduling, time and attendance reporting as a supervisor, and recruitment whether formal or informal.
