About The Position

The Security Police Officer supports the protection of Department of Energy (DOE) property and assets by maintaining a secure environment and responding to incidents as required.

Requirements

Applicants selected for this position may be required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 absent a need for an accommodation
Active DOE “L” Security Clearance required
Equivalent clearances issued by other federal agencies at the equivalent or higher level will be considered if they can be reciprocated by DOE
High school diploma or equivalent required
Ability to successfully complete an extensive pre-employment medical evaluation, including a strenuous physical agility test
Ability to successfully complete an extensive training program including non-lethal weapons and firearms qualification (initial and semi-annually)

Nice To Haves

Prior military, law enforcement, or police experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Observe and report activities and incidents at an assigned client site
Provide security and safety of client property
Prepare logs and reports daily
Preserve order and enforce regulations and directives in accordance with company policies
Conduct continuous foot patrols of the client property and remain visible when not patrolling
Perform responsibilities as an Alarm System Operator
Demonstrate a “safety first” commitment
Maintain the ability to receive communications and respond to emergent situations 24/7
Maintain a positive attitude and excellent work ethic
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
Support a successful security team environment
Demonstrate problem-solving skills and leadership ability
Be punctual and dependable
