About The Position

The Security Attendant is responsible for supporting a safe and secure environment for all guests, team members, and hotel property. This role provides a visible presence throughout the hotel, monitors activity, responds to incidents, and assists guests and team members to ensure a comfortable and secure experience during both day and nighttime hours.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic knowledge of safety and emergency procedures
  • First aid and CPR Certified (may be obtain upon hire)
  • Detailed- oriented and thorough
  • Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards
  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests and handle sensitive information discreetly
  • Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way
  • Knowledge of basic security procedures, safety protocols, and emergency response practices
  • Understanding of hotel operations and guest service standards
  • Monitor and assess situations quickly to identify potential safety or security risks
  • Strong verbal communication skills to interact effectively with guests, team members, and emergency responder
  • Ability to document incidents clearly and accurately using written reports and basic computer systems
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused during stressful or high-pressure incidents
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, make quick decisions, and take appropriate action when responding to emergencies
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a consistent security presence
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, including stairs and uneven surfaces
  • Ability to bend, reach, and stretch when performing inspections or emergency procedures
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Sufficient visual and auditory acuity to detect safety hazards, monitor alarms, and observe guest and team member activity
  • Ability to respond quickly and safely to emergency situations, including running or climbing stairs
  • Manual dexterity to operate security equipment, radios, or computer systems

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred but not required
  • Experience in a customer service or hospitality environment is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Patrol the hotel premises during the day and overnight shift to deter and detect any suspicious activity
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to potential security concerns
  • Conduct regular inspections of all public areas, including lobbies, corridors, and parking lots, to ensure they safety and security
  • Conduct routine checks of equipment, such as fire extinguishers and emergency exit signs, to ensure they are in working order
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries, concerns, and emergencies, providing assistance as needed
  • Assist with emergency response procedures, including evacuations, medical emergencies, and fire alarms
  • Enforce hotel policies and procedures to maintain order and safety on the premises
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments, such as front desk and housekeeping, to address security-related issues and support a seamless guest experience
  • Prepare detailed incident reports for any security-related incidents, accidents, or disturbances that occur during the shift
  • Stay updated on local safety regulations and security best practices to maintain compliance and enhance security protocols
  • All other duties as assigned
