In this position… This pivotal, hands-on leadership role is integral to our security organization, overseeing all security operations for Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) facilities, which include parts distribution centers and warehouses, within a designated region. These roles will also have responsibility for supporting security operations at select commercial properties (offices, design studios, test facilities, etc.) within their region. As a Security Operations Team Leader, you will act as a key point of contact, exercise independent judgment, take charge of operational situations, and provide exceptional customer service while representing the department. This role requires travel to FCSD sites and other Ford facilities within their designated geographic region in the U.S. and Canada. You will be expected to work on-site at your home location when not traveling. 25% travel

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in law enforcement, military, or a relevant security-related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory role overseeing people and/or security operations
  • Advanced proficiency in utilizing security-related software, systems, and standard office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, take charge in dynamic situations, and manage complex operational challenges
  • Possess a Concealed Pistol License (CPL) or meet the state requirements to obtain one within 1 month from hire date, and demonstrate firearm proficiency as a condition of hire
  • Possess a valid Driver’s license and ability to travel frequently to various regional sites

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all security and fire operations for assigned FCSD locations, ensuring compliance with company policies, security manuals, and protocols
  • Provide guidance, direction, and mentorship to contract security personnel, including ensuring contract security completes training and onboarding, fostering a high-performing and collaborative security environment across multiple sites
  • Conduct regular site visits and travel frequently to various FCSD and Ford commercial locations within your assigned region to assess security posture, build relationships, and provide direct oversight
  • Serve as the key point of contact for security-related matters at assigned FCSD locations, demonstrating exceptional customer service and professionalism to site leadership, employees, and visitors
  • Review protocols and ensure sites are prepared to respond to security and fire incidents (e.g., medical, behavioral, trespassing, accidents, suspicious activity, thefts), ensuring appropriate escalation to Global Security leadership when necessary
  • Coordinate and lead initial investigations into security incidents, gathering evidence and preparing comprehensive reports
  • Collaborate with the Global Brand Protection team on investigations related to parts and product integrity
  • Oversee and ensure functionality for access control, security video systems, fire inspections, and emergency support for assigned facilities
  • Conduct risk assessments of sites to determine if the operational model is adequate for site integrity and identify physical security gaps and solutions through proactive initiatives
  • Conduct regular and random security inspections of parts logistics processes, including packaging, labeling, handling of scrapped parts, and receiving/shipping of returned parts
  • Monitor and ensure facility practices comply with Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) requirements
  • Assist with the planning and execution of special projects and security initiatives, including audits and site-specific security enhancements
  • Develop and deliver security awareness communications and training to employees and contract security personnel at assigned locations
  • Collaborate with site leadership, HR, Labor Relations, and Safety representatives to discuss and resolve workplace issues
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal skill teams and external partners (e.g., local law enforcement, fire departments) to ensure unified alignment and effective security coverage for special events
  • Ensure the security and privacy of company classified and sensitive information
  • Be available to work 24x7, 365 days a year, including off-shifts, weekends, and holidays, as operational needs dictate
