About The Position

The Security Operations Specialist will play a critical role in directly managing the performance and compliance of our contracted security vendor. This position will ensure the vendor’s operations meet all company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include invoice review, oversight of daily security operations, post inspections, audits, training compliance, and contract adherence. The role requires strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of contract management, and working knowledge of security company operations.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in security operations, contract/vendor management, or related field; OR a bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, or related discipline.
  • Minimum experience of 2 years supervising security officers and managing security vendor.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Functional knowledge of contracts, vendor oversight, and security company operations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in critical situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Law enforcement, military experience or security contract management (3+ years).
  • Security experience (5+ years).
  • Familiarity with security systems, including access control and CCTV platforms.
  • Experience in an industrial, plant, or large-facility environment.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily vendor operations to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and contract requirements.
  • Conduct random officer and supervisor inspections, recordkeeping audits, camera review audits, and knowledge-based testing of vendor personnel.
  • Ensure vendor-provided initial and refresher training is conducted in accordance with state law and contractual requirements.
  • Review and validate vendor invoices to confirm accuracy and adherence to agreed contract terms.
  • Monitor security vendor performance and identify gaps or deficiencies; recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of audits, inspections, and findings, reporting results to Security Services leadership.
  • Collaborate with vendor management to resolve issues, ensuring continuity and effectiveness of services.
  • Investigate and document security-related incidents involving the vendor, providing recommendations for corrective measures.
  • Provide input to management on technology upgrades, policy updates, and procedural changes to enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging risks, offering forward-looking solutions to prevent incidents.
  • Ensure a positive, professional relationship between HMGMA Security Services and contracted security personnel.
  • Support the development and implementation of security policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with security-related incident investigations, providing reports to management.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, training, and incident reports.
  • Prepare periodic performance and compliance reports for management review.
