About The Position

The Watch Officer plays a critical role in safeguarding Applied Materials’ global operations. This position is responsible for real-time security and threat intelligence monitoring across all company sites and assets. The role supports a wide range of functions including travel safety, physical security, alarm response, medical emergencies, and incident management—both natural and human-made. As a frontline responder, the Watch Officer is entrusted with key escalation responsibilities and acts as a vital link in the company’s global security framework. As an GSOC Watch Officer, you are the driving force behind daily security operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of the people and places you protect. You will lead from the front—guiding, developing, and motivating your team of security officers and supervisors to deliver exceptional service. Requirements

  • 4–7 years in a similar role within a security organization, preferably with leadership over GSOC/Fusion Center operations, personnel, and technology systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, SharePoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience delivering presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-stress responses to critical incidents such as fires, medical emergencies, workplace violence, cyber threats, and natural disasters.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • Valid driver’s license if driving a company vehicle, or personal vehicle while conducting business.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in business operations, security management, or supervising teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in leading, developing, and retaining a dynamic team while building positive client relationships.
  • Knowledge of emergency preparedness, physical security protocols, risk assessments, and law enforcement coordination.
  • Proven ability to evaluate situations, make sound independent decisions, and resolve conflicts in an efficient manner.
  • Proficiency in web-based applications and computer systems, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and employees while managing multiple projects and driving operational excellence.
  • Financial acumen; able to manage staffing levels while minimizing non-billed overtime and managing turnover costs; planning and organizing skills to control costs related to inventory (uniforms, equipment, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience in GSOC or Fusion Center environments, with leadership in operational response.
  • Proficiency in SaaS platforms for dispatch, incident management, mass notification, and physical security systems (e.g., CCURE, Avigilon, or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Manage scheduling: Leverage AI-powered technology to effectively schedule security officers, meeting client contract hours while minimizing unbilled overtime
  • Lead and Develop Security Teams: Hire, coach and manage security officers and supervisors while overseeing payroll, performance, and employee relations
  • Enhance Client Relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high-quality service that protects people and property
  • Handle Security Incidents and Emergencies: Respond to escalated issues professionally, coordinating with clients and internal teams
  • Direct Compliance and Security Operational Excellence: Oversee training, safety, and site operational standards as well as managing inventory (uniforms, equipment, and other essential supplies)
